Operations on other bones: Inspection of osteosynthesis material with reosteosynthesis: By external fixator: Distal radius
Your radius has been re-stabilized using aids.
There are 2 bones in the forearm, the ulna and the radius. The ulna is on the side where your little finger is. The radius is on the side where your thumb is. Both bones in the forearm have an upper, middle and lower section. The lower ends of the ulna and the radius are connected to the hand by the wrist.
The bone fragments from the lower section of your radius have been joined and stabilized using a special fixation system. For the special holding system, metal pins or screws are inserted into the radius through the skin from outside. These are then joined to one another outside the body using a holding system.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
