Operations on other bones: Inspection of osteosynthesis material with reosteosynthesis: By external fixator: Phalanges of the hand
One or more of your finger bones have been re-stabilized using aids.
The hand is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. Immediately after the forearm is the carpus. Then comes the metacarpus and then the individual fingers. The thumb consists of 2 finger bones. The other fingers consist of 3 finger bones.
Your finger bone fragments have been stabilized using a special fixation system. The special fixation system involves inserting metal pins or screws through the skin from outside and into the bone concerned. These are then joined to one another outside the body using a holding system.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
