Operations on other bones: Inspection of osteosynthesis material with reosteosynthesis: By intramedullary wire: Distal humerus

Your humerus has been re-stabilized using aids.

There are different parts to the humerus. The top end is connected to the shoulder blade in the shoulder joint. In the middle of the humerus there is a long, straight section. The lower end is connected to the forearm in the elbow joint.

The lower section of your humerus has been stabilized using wires or pins inside the bone.

The purpose of the pins or wires is to stabilize the humerus from within. To achieve this, they are inserted into the space inside the bone.
