Operations on other bones: Inspection of osteosynthesis material with reosteosynthesis: Internal lengthening or bone transport system: Motorized
In a new operation, a special aid has been inserted into one of your bones. This aid can be lengthened over time.
Bones can be supported from the inside, by special aids. The special aids can be used to push parts of bone apart. If a bone is severed, new bone tissue grows between the resulting bone parts. If the parts are slowly pushed apart, the bone can be lengthened in this way. This method can also be used to get healthy bone to a site that is damaged.
