Your femur has been re-stabilized using aids.

The femur has an upper, middle and lower section. The lower section of the femur is connected to the lower leg bones by the knee joint.

The bone fragments from the lower section of your femur have been joined and stabilized using a special fixation system. The special fixation system involves inserting metal pins or screws through the skin from outside and into the femur. These are then joined to one another outside the body using a holding system. The fixation system consists of some rings and pins located around the bone.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
