Operations on other bones: Inspection of osteosynthesis material with reosteosynthesis: By ring fixator: Metatarsals
Your metatarsal bones have been re-stabilized using aids.
The foot is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. The lower leg is connected to the tarsus. Then comes the metatarsus and then the individual toes. The metatarsus consists of 5 elongated metatarsal bones.
To stabilize bones or parts of bones, various aids can be used. They can be made of metal or plastic, for example.
Your metatarsal bone fragments have been stabilized using a special fixation system. The special fixation system involves inserting metal pins or screws through the skin from outside and into the bone concerned. These are then joined to one another outside the body using a holding system. The fixation system consists of some rings and pins located around the bone.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
