Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Closed repositioning of a fracture or epiphyseal separation with osteosynthesis: By intramedullary nail with joint component: Shaft of ulna

The long, straight part of your ulna was broken and has been stabilized in an operation.

There are 2 bones in the forearm, the ulna and the radius. The ulna is on the side where your little finger is. The radius is on the side where your thumb is. Both bones in the forearm have an upper, middle and lower section. The ulna and the radius both have a long, straight section in the middle.

You broke the middle section of your ulna. You had an intervention to bring the bone parts of your ulna back together and put them into their normal position.

A long pin was inserted into the bone to hold together and stabilize the affected site.

The purpose of the long pin is to stabilize the ulna from inside. To do this, the pin is inserted into the interior of your ulna. The long pin is also attached to a big screw. This screw stabilizes other parts of the bone. The long pin may also be screwed to the bone at its ends.
