5-790.7m:
Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Closed repositioning of a fracture or epiphyseal separation with osteosynthesis: By fixed angle plate/condylar plate: Shaft of tibia
The long, straight section of your tibia was broken and it has been surgically stabilized.
There are 2 bones in the lower leg, the tibia and the fibula. The tibia is on the inside of the leg. The fibula is on the outside of the leg. Both bones in the lower leg have an upper, middle and lower section.
You broke the middle section of your tibia. First of all, the fragments of your tibia were surgically put back in their normal place and joined together. The affected site was joined and stabilized using one or more plates.
The plate is angled or curved. This enables the plate to be adjusted to properly fit the shape of the lower leg bone.
