5-790.m2:

Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Closed repositioning of a fracture or epiphyseal separation with osteosynthesis: By ring fixator: Shaft of humerus

The long, straight section of your humerus was broken and it has been surgically stabilized.

There are different parts to the humerus. The top end is connected to the shoulder blade in the shoulder joint. In the middle of the humerus there is a long, straight section. The lower end is connected to the forearm in the elbow joint.

The bone fragments from the mid-section of your humerus were surgically joined and stabilized using a special fixation system. The special fixation system involves inserting metal pins or screws through the skin from outside and into the humerus. These are then joined to one another outside the body using a holding system. The holding system consists of some rings and pins that are external to the upper arm.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
