5-790.m8:
Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Closed repositioning of a fracture or epiphyseal separation with osteosynthesis: By ring fixator: Shaft of ulna
The long, straight part of your ulna was broken and has been stabilized in an operation.
There are 2 bones in the forearm, the ulna and the radius. The ulna is on the side where your little finger is. The radius is on the side where your thumb is. Both bones in the forearm have an upper, middle and lower section. The ulna and the radius both have a long, straight section in the middle.
You broke the middle section of your ulna.
You have had surgery to put the bits of bone in the middle part of your ulna back into their normal position, and a special restraint system was used to hold them together and stabilize them. For the special holding system, metal pins or screws are inserted through the skin from outside. These are then joined to one another outside the body using a holding system. The holding system consists of some rings and pins that are external to the forearm.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
