Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Open repositioning of a multiple fragment fracture in the shaft area of a long bone: By intramedullary nail with joint component: Other

One or more bones in your arm or leg were broken and have been operated on.

The arms and legs each consist of various long bones. These long bones can be divided into different sections. The bones have a long, straight section in the middle. At their ends, the long bones are joined to other bones by joints.

In your case the long, straight bone sections have been broken into various pieces. You had an operation to bring the broken parts back together and put them into their normal position.

The break was stabilized using long nails.

The purpose of the nails is to stabilize the bone from inside. To achieve this, they are inserted into the space inside the bone. At their ends, the long nails can be screwed to the bone. Nails like these are also attached using a large screw. This screw stabilizes other parts of the bone.
