Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Open repositioning of a multiple fragment fracture in the joint area of a long bone: By dynamic fixator: Proximal fibula
You broke your fibula (calf bone) and had an operation on it.
There are 2 bones in the lower leg, the tibia and the fibula. The tibia is on the inside of the leg. The fibula is on the outside of the leg. Both bones in the lower leg have an upper, middle and lower section. The top end of the tibia is connected to the femur by the knee joint. The top ends of the tibia and fibula are also connected by a joint just below the knee joint.
The top end of your fibula is broken in more than one place.
You had an operation to bring the broken parts of your fibula back together and put them into their normal position. The break was stabilized using a special brace.
For the special holding system you have had metal pins or screws inserted into your lower leg bone through the skin from outside. These were then joined to one another outside the body using a holding system. The holding system is designed to be mobile. This enables the lower leg to be moved.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
