Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Open repositioning of a simple fracture in small bones: By intramedullary wire: Tarsals

One or more of your tarsal bones were broken and were surgically stabilized using devices.

The foot is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. The lower leg is connected to the tarsus. Then comes the metatarsus and then the individual toes. The tarsus consists of 7 tarsal bones. The tarsal bones form the rear part of the foot.

You had an operation to first return the fragments of the affected bones to their normal position and put them back together. Your tarsal bones were then stabilized using wires or pins inside the bone. The purpose of the pins or wires is to stabilize the tarsal bones from the inside. To achieve this, they are inserted into the space inside the bone.
