Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Open repositioning of a simple fracture in small bones: By intramedullary wire: Scapula
Your shoulder blade was broken and was surgically stabilized using devices.
The shoulder blade is a flat bone. It is in the upper part of the back, to the right and left of the spine. As part of the shoulder joint, the shoulder blade connects the upper body to the arm. The shoulder blade is involved in many movements in the shoulder area.
You had an operation to bring the broken parts of your shoulder blade back together and put them into their normal position. Your shoulder blade was then stabilized inside the bone using pins or wires.
The purpose of the wires or pins is to stabilize the shoulder blade from the inside. To achieve this, they are inserted into the space inside the bone.
