The collarbone is a bone at the front of the ribcage. It runs from the ribcage to the shoulder and joins the shoulder blade at the shoulder.

Your collarbone was broken in such a way that the break consisted of more than one piece. You had an operation to bring the broken parts of your collarbone back together and put them into their normal position. The break was stabilized using one or more screws.
