OPS-Code 5-796.px:

Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Open repositioning of a multiple fragment fracture in small bones: By inter-locking nail: Other

One or more of your bones were broken and were surgically stabilized using devices.

When the affected bones were broken, several fragments were created. You had an operation to bring the broken parts back together and put them into their normal position. The fracture sites were then stabilized using a long pin inside the bone.

The purpose of the long pin is to stabilize the bone from the inside. To do this, the pin is inserted into the bone. The long pin may also be screwed to the bone at its ends.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
