OPS-Code 5-799.6:
Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Open repositioning of an acetabulum and femoral head fracture with osteosynthesis: By combinations of materials, ventral
One or more of the bones in your hip joint were broken and were surgically stabilized using devices.
The two hip joints connect the pelvis to the thighbones (femurs). At each side of the pelvic bone there is a depression. This depression is also called the hip socket. The femoral head sits in the hip socket. The femoral head is the rounded top end of the femur. In the hip joint, both the femoral head and the acetabulum may be fractured.
Your hip joint was treated from the front via an access in the groin area. The operation involved returning the broken parts to their normal position and putting them back together. The parts of the bone were then stabilized using special devices.
To stabilize bones or parts of bones, various aids can be used. They can be made of metal or plastic, for example.
