OPS-Code 5-79a.7p:
Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Closed repositioning of a joint luxation with osteosynthesis: By external fixator with internal osteosynthesis: Tarsometatarsal joint
One or more joints between your tarsal bones and your metatarsal bones were realigned and stabilized using aids.
The foot is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. The lower leg is connected to the tarsus. Then comes the metatarsus and then the individual toes. The tarsus consists of 7 tarsal bones. The tarsal bones form the rear part of the foot. The metatarsus consists of 5 elongated metatarsal bones.
The bones of the affected joints between your tarsal bones and your metatarsal bones were first returned to their correct position. The joints between your tarsal bones and your metatarsal bones were then stabilized using a special fixation system and other special aids.
To stabilize bones or parts of bones, various aids can be used. They can be made of metal or plastic, for example. The special fixation system involves inserting metal rods or screws through the skin from outside and into the bones concerned. These are then joined to one another outside the body using a holding system.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
