OPS-Code 5-79a.7r:
Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Closed repositioning of a joint luxation with osteosynthesis: By external fixator with internal osteosynthesis: Toe joint
One or more joints between the phalanges of your foot were realigned and stabilized using aids.
The foot is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. The lower leg is connected to the tarsus. Then comes the metatarsus and then the individual toes. The big toe consists of 2 toe bones. The other toes consist of 3 toe bones. The individual phalanges of the foot are connected to each other via a joint.
The bones of the affected joints between the phalanges of your foot were first returned to their correct position. The joints between the phalanges of your hand were then stabilized using a special fixation system and other special aids.
To stabilize bones or parts of bones, various aids can be used. They can be made of metal or plastic, for example. The special fixation system involves inserting metal rods or screws through the skin from outside and into the bones concerned. These are then joined to one another outside the body using a holding system.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
