OPS-Code 5-79a.gg:

Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Closed repositioning of a joint luxation with osteosynthesis: By intramedullary wire: Hip joint

Your hip joint was realigned and stabilized using aids.

The hip joints are outside, to the side of the pelvis. They connect the pelvis to the thighbones. The hip joints enable the legs to be moved in different directions.

The bones of your hip joint were first returned to their correct position. Your hip joint was then stabilized inside the bone using pins or wires.

The purpose of the pins or wires is to stabilize the joint from within. To achieve this, they are inserted into the interior of the bone.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
