OPS-Code 5-79a.gj:

Repositioning of fracture and luxation: Closed repositioning of a joint luxation with osteosynthesis: By intramedullary wire: Proximal tibiofibular joint

The joint between your tibia and fibula was realigned and stabilized using aids.

There are 2 bones in the lower leg, the tibia and the fibula. The tibia is on the inside of the leg. The fibula is on the outside of the leg. Both bones in the lower leg have an upper, middle and lower section. Just below the knee joint, the tibia and fibula are connected by a joint.

The bones of the joint between your tibia and your fibula were first returned to their correct position. The joint between your tibia and your fibula was then stabilized inside the bone using pins or wires.

The purpose of the pins or wires is to stabilize the joint from within. To achieve this, they are inserted into the interior of the bone.
