Open surgical and other joint operations: Open surgical operation on a joint: Joint mobilization [arthrolysis]: Metatarsophalangeal joint

You have had an operation to mobilize one or more of your metatarsophalangeal joints.

The metatarsophalangeal joints are the joints between the metatarsal bones and the toe bones.

With certain disorders or after surgery, joints may suffer from poor mobility due to scarring or adhered tissue. A joint can be mobilized again by surgically removing the scarring or the adhesions.

The operation involved opening the joints via an incision in your skin.
