Arthroscopic joint operations: Arthroscopic joint operation: Joint mobilization [arthrolysis]: Knee
You had an operation on your kneecap in order to improve the mobility of the joint.
Improving the mobility of the joint might involve removing scars or adhesions from the joint, for example. Necrotic tissue may also be removed there.
Your operation was carried out via an arthroscopy. An arthroscopy first involves making a small incision in the skin. A camera was pushed through this incision. This camera sends images of the inside of the joint to a screen. Instruments such as forceps and scissors can be inserted into the joint through other small incisions.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
