Arthroscopic joint operations: Arthroscopic joint operation: Resection of parts and/or remains of ligaments: Glenohumeral joint

Parts of one or more ligaments in your shoulder joint have been removed.

The body’s ligaments consist of tough connective tissue. Ligaments hold the joints together and ensure that we can move our joints normally.

The ligament parts were removed from you in the course of an arthroscopy. An arthroscopy first involves making a small incision in the skin. A camera was pushed through this incision. This camera sends images of the inside of the joint to a screen. Instruments such as forceps and scissors can be inserted into the joint through other small incisions.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides

Note

Your doctor will assist you with any health-related questions and explain the OPS code to you in a direct consultation if necessary.
