5-822.c:

Endoprosthetic joint and bone replacement: Implantation of an endoprosthesis in the knee joint: Interpositional unanchored implant

Synthetic material has been put into your knee joint.

The knee joint connects the thigh to the lower leg. The knee joint is made up of 3 bones. These bones are the thighbone (femur), the shinbone (tibia) and the kneecap. The kneecap sits in a groove at the front of the thighbone.

Between the femur and the tibia are the menisci. These are crescent-shaped discs made of cartilage and fibers. There is a medial meniscus and a lateral meniscus. You had a disc made of synthetic material inserted in place of one or both menisci.
