Endoprosthetic joint and bone replacement: Implantation of an endoprosthesis in upper extremity joints: Partial prosthesis in the proximal area of the humerus: Humeral head prosthesis

Part of your shoulder joint has been replaced by a prosthesis.

The shoulder joint is the joint between the shoulder blade and the humerus. There is a flat recess to the side of the shoulder blade. This is the glenoid cavity. In the glenoid cavity is the spherical upper end of the humerus. This is the head of the humerus.

Your humeral head has been replaced by a prosthesis. A replacement like this may be required if the shoulder joint has been badly damaged, for example.
