Operations on the spine: Osteosynthesis (dynamic stabilization) in the spinal column: By screw-rod system: 1 segment

You have had a spine operation that involved attaching adjacent vertebrae to each other.

The spine is made up of the individual vertebrae. Between every 2 vertebrae there is a vertebral disc. An area made up of 2 adjacent vertebrae is called a segment.

You have had a segment stabilized using screws and pins. To do this, the screws were inserted into the vertebrae. Pins were then used to attach the screws to one another.
