Operations on the spine: Osteosynthesis (dynamic stabilization) in the spinal column: By intervertebral cages: 1 segment

You have had a spine operation that involved attaching adjacent vertebrae to each other.

The spine is made up of the individual vertebrae. Between every 2 vertebrae there is a vertebral disc. An area made up of 2 adjacent vertebrae is called a segment.

You have had a spacer inserted in a segment. This type of spacer is inserted where the disk usually is. A spacer has been used to stabilize a segment.
