Operations on muscles, tendons, fasciae and bursas: Severance of muscle, tendon and fascia: Severance of a tendon sheath, longitudinal: Shoulder and axilla

You have had an operation on tendon sheaths in your shoulder or armpit.

Tendons are made up of very firm connective tissue. Tendons attach muscles to bones. A tendon sheath is a covering for the tendon. It cushions the tendon and contains a small amount of fluid. This reduces friction between the tendon and its surroundings.

The operation involved severing one or more tendon sheaths in your shoulder or armpit.
