Other operations on skin and hypoderm: Temporary soft tissue coverage: Placement or replacement of a vacuum therapy system: Deep, subfascial or in bones and/or joints of the extremities
You have had a wound treated. A special system was used that produces constant negative pressure.
You have been treated for a wound on your arms or legs.
A sort of sponge was inserted into the wound. This sponge is connected to a pump by a tube. Air is then continuously sucked through the tube. In this way, the system produces negative pressure in the wound.
Treatment using negative pressure enables wound fluid and any pathogens present to be sucked out of wounds. Another aim of the treatment is to provide a better blood supply to the wounds and seal them up again more quickly.
