Information about the graft and the materials used: Type of graft or implant: Allogeneic: Not ABO-compatible
You have been given an organ or certain tissue from another person.
The donor involved had a different blood group from you. When tissue is donated, the patient’s own tissue and the donated tissue need to be as similar to one another as possible. Otherwise the immune system may attack the donated tissue. For example, the immune system also fights altered body cells or disease pathogens. Therefore certain tissue characteristics are compared before tissue is donated. For example, one such characteristic of a tissue is the blood group. In certain cases, a person can be given an organ or tissue from another person even though the blood groups do not match.
Additional indicator
