You have had an operation involving a special material.
An operation involves cutting through tissue. The severed tissue in the body can then grow together or adhere. To prevent these types of tissue adhesions, an operation may involve inserting a synthetic membrane or another material.
Later, the body can partly or fully break down the material used.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
