Certain measures were taken to prevent any damage to your donor organ.

When an organ is taken from a person for an organ donation, it temporarily has no oxygen or blood supply. So the aim is to implant the organ in the recipient as quickly as possible. In the meanwhile, various measures are taken to prevent any damage to the organ. The organ is cooled, for example.

During the time your donor organ was outside of the body, it was also washed out with a certain fluid. How well the organ was working was also monitored.
