Special surgical techniques and operations in special care situations: Minimally invasive technique: Natural orifice endoscopic surgery [NOTES]: Transgastric approach
To operate on you, instruments were pushed through your mouth and esophagus to the stomach.
A small incision was then made in the wall of the stomach. This also allows other organs in the stomach to be operated on. If the devices are inserted through a natural opening in the body, no or fewer skin incisions are required. The fewer skin incisions required during surgery, the fewer visible scars will result.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
