5-986.03:

Special surgical techniques and operations in special care situations: Minimally invasive technique: Natural orifice endoscopic surgery [NOTES]: Transcolic approach

To operate on you, instruments were inserted through your anus.

The instruments were pushed further through the anus into the large intestine. A small incision was then made in the wall of the large intestine. This also allows other organs in the stomach to be operated on. If the devices are inserted through a natural opening in the body, no or fewer skin incisions are required. The fewer skin incisions required during surgery, the fewer visible scars will result.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides

Further information

Note

Your doctor will assist you with any health-related questions and explain the OPS code to you in a direct consultation if necessary.
