Administration of medication and nutrients: Intrathecal and intraventricular administration of medication by infusion pumps: Postoperative intrathecal and intraventricular medication dose adjustment following attachment of infusion pump: With external infusion pump

You have been treated because of your drug pump which releases medication straight into your cerebrospinal fluid.

There are cavities with cerebrospinal fluid in the brain, around the brain and around the spinal cord. Among other things, the cerebrospinal fluid cushions the brain and spinal cord during knocks and also nourishes the brain cells. Cerebrospinal fluid circulates around the spinal cord, as it does the brain.

You carry a drug pump outside your body. A short time ago you were given a drug pump. After the operation the drug pump was set to release a certain amount of medication into your cerebrospinal fluid.

Additional indicator
