Therapeutic injection: Therapeutic injection: Chemical synoviorthesis
You have had a drug injected into a joint in order to cauterize the synovial membrane inside.
Joints are encased in a joint capsule. The synovial membrane lines the inside of the joint capsule. The synovial membrane produces the synovial fluid. This synovial fluid helps the surfaces of the joint to glide past each other. The synovial fluid also nourishes the cartilage that lines the joint surfaces of bones.
