8-100.6:
Foreign body removal: Endoscopic foreign body removal: By oesophagoscopy, with flexible instrument
A foreign body has been removed from your esophagus.
The treatment involved a tube being inserted through your mouth. A camera was attached to the end of the tube. This camera then sends images to a screen during the examination. Small tools are used to remove a foreign body. These are forceps or a small basket, for example. These tools are pushed through the tube into the esophagus. Then the foreign body can be removed through the tube.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
