Manipulation of digestive tract: Intestinal lavage

Your intestine has been washed out with a fluid.

There are different ways of washing out the intestine. A tube may be inserted via the anus and a fluid passed through this into the intestine. Or the person may also drink a special fluid. The contents of the intestine are then excreted along with this fluid.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left

  • B: Both sides
