A feeding tube has been inserted into your small intestine or replaced.

The small intestine is the first part of the intestine, after the stomach. The nutrients from food are absorbed in the small intestine.

Food and drink can be taken through a feeding tube. The feeding tube was inserted through your nose. A laparoscopy was done at the same time in order to get the feeding tube to the right place.

A laparoscopy involves inserting a tube with a camera through the oesophagus to the stomach. Instruments such as forceps and scissors can be pushed through at the front of the tube.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
