Manipulation of digestive tract: Using donor fecal suspension: By colonoscopy
You have been given prepared stool from another person.
There are many different bacteria in the intestine. These bacteria form part of the intestinal flora. The intestinal flora helps digestion and the body’s immune system, for example. The composition of the intestinal flora depends on many things. These include nutrition and certain medications.
If the intestinal flora has changed significantly, it can favor disorders. The intestinal flora from another person can then be put into the bowel. For this purpose, first, the donated stool sample is specially prepared. The stool is usually thinned and filtered. A tube is then inserted via the anus and the prepared stool is passed to the intestine.
