Certain areas of your body were treated very specifically with radiation.

Treatment with radiation is also called radiotherapy. Radiotherapy involves the use of a device that forms particularly high-energy rays. These rays are used to target radiation at specific areas of the body to destroy diseased tissue. Radiation is carried out in such a way that healthy tissue is protected as much as possible.

Images of your body were produced during the radiotherapy. These were used to check exactly which areas were being targeted with radiation.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
