Radiotherapy: Construction and adjustment of fixation and treatment aids in radiotherapy: Individual blocks or multileaf collimator (MLC)
Your treatment with radiation involved special aids being made and applied.
Treatment with radiation is also called radiotherapy. Radiotherapy involves the use of a device that forms particularly high-energy rays. These rays are used to target radiation at specific areas of the body to destroy diseased tissue. Radiation is carried out in such a way that healthy tissue is protected as much as possible.
Aids can be attached to the device that forms the rays. These aids work like a template. This way the rays can be directed specifically to selected areas. This is to protect the surrounding tissue as much as possible.
Additional indicator
