Cytostatic chemotherapy, immunotherapy and antiretroviral therapy: Percutaneous isolated organ perfusion for chemotherapy: Other

An organ in your body has been specifically treated via blood vessels with a drug that is intended to damage pathologically altered cells.

Blood vessels transport the blood from the heart to the different tissues and organs in the body, and back again.

For the treatment, a thin tube was first inserted into a blood vessel at the groin or arm. This tube was advanced via the blood vessel to the relevant organ. A drug intended to damage pathologically altered cells in the organ was then administered via the tube.

Additional indicator
