Access during mechanical ventilation and using airway clearance techniques: Simple endotracheal intubation

You have had a tube pushed into your trachea to ventilate you.

The trachea or windpipe begins below the larynx. It consists of many cartilage rings that strengthen the trachea. The trachea splits into 2 large airways in the middle of the chest. The airways then go into the lungs and branch out further.

With a ventilation machine or ventilation bag, air can get through the tube to the lungs. As a result, for example, the body should get a sufficient supply of oxygen.
