8-721.1:
Administration of oxygen: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBT): Treatment lasting up to 145 minutes with monitoring in intensive care unit
As part of a special treatment you breathed in pure oxygen.
The treatment aims to enrich the body with more oxygen than usual. You were in a special room for this treatment. The pressure in the room was greater than the normal air pressure.
The air in a room like this usually contains a large amount of oxygen. But sometimes, too, the person breathes in the oxygen through a special device. When we breathe in, oxygen enters the lungs and accumulates in the blood. All of the organs are supplied with oxygen as a result.
During the treatment a special device monitored you. This usually involves monitoring the heartbeat, blood pressure and breathing, for example.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

- R: Right
- B: Both sides
