8-83d.9:

Therapeutic intravascular catheterization and cannulation: Other percutaneous transluminal angioplasty of heart and coronary arteries: Insertion of a guide wire before aborting a balloon angioplasty

You were treated with a heart catheter.

A catheter is a thin tube. This tube is inserted into a blood vessel in the groin or arm. The tube is then pushed onward to the heart. At the tip of the tube there are small instruments that can be used to treat the heart or the vessels. The heart muscle is supplied with oxygen-rich blood via the coronary arteries. The coronary arteries are blood vessels that run around the outside of the heart.

A catheter can be used to widen coronary vessels that have narrowed. To do this, a thin wire is first pushed into the relevant coronary vessel. Then a variety of methods can be used to widen the coronary vessel. In your case, however, the treatment was terminated after the wire had been pushed in.
