8-853.13:

Extracorporeal circulation and treatment of blood: Haemofiltration: Continuous arteriovenous haemofiltration (CAVH): Up to 24 hours

Your blood was cleansed and, at the same time, fluid was removed from your blood. This is also known as dialysis.

Normally the kidneys remove toxins from the body and also ensure that there is not too much fluid in the body. If, for example, the kidneys no longer work or do not work well, a special machine can take over this task. The machine consists of pumps and tubes. A machine like this was uninterruptedly connected to one of your major blood vessels for a certain length of time.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides

Further information

Note

Your doctor will assist you with any health-related questions and explain the OPS code to you in a direct consultation if necessary.
