8-854.8:

Extracorporeal circulation and treatment of blood: Haemodialysis: Prolonged intermittent haemodialysis to clear protein molecules up to 60,000

Your blood has been cleansed. This is also known as dialysis.

Normally the kidneys remove toxins from the body and also ensure that there is not too much fluid in the body. If, for example, the kidneys no longer work or do not work well, a special machine can take over this task. The machine consists of pumps and tubes. A machine like this was repeatedly connected to one of your major blood vessels.

Dialysis usually takes a few hours. Your dialysis took longer than usual because certain proteins were also removed from your blood.
