The blood that flows back to your heart from your brain has been examined. The amount of oxygen in the blood was measured.
The oxygen content in the blood from your brain was monitored over a long period of time. A sensor may be inserted into a vein in the neck to do this. Veins are blood vessels that transport the blood back to the heart.
